Their unique style is a blend of world acappella music with a jazz texture.

Samantha Fiddes
Sam is a woman with many hats. She started performing at the age of three and has gained scholarships and awards for dance, violin, voice and theatre. She appeared as Little Cosette (Les Miserables, 1994, Sound Construction Co), Mary Lennox (The Secret garden, 1995/6 Australian Tour) Lizzie (Confusion of Tongues, 2002, Stray Dogs Productions - CONDA for Best Professional Actress ina Leading Role) and the Teenager (The Impossible Body World premiere, 2004, Newcastle Conservatorium). She made her choreography debut in 2004 with The Secret Garden in addition to functioning as vocal coach and assistant director and has since choreographed for Newcastle University Drama (Lysistrata, 2004), Walking on Air Productions (The Dreamer and the Drifter,2005). She directed,designed and choreographed Opera Hunter's acclaimed 2007 season of Cats and appeared as Frasquita in Alexander Production's Carmen that same year. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Opera) from the University of Newcastle and is currently studying at The Actor's College of Theatre and Television. Frank Zeichner
By day Frank runs a private consulting business helping telecoms companies improve their business, by night he moonlights as singer. These nocturnal activities began many years ago with various choral groups in Melbourne and later in Sydney with the Conservatorium Singers, Philharmonic Motet Choir and in the 80s with a capella group, the Elevators. He also sings bass with Australia's finest gospel choir The Cafe of the Gate of Salvation . Sara Browne For the last decade Sara has lived in Sydney and worked as an actor, singer, songwriter, fairy, train driver, drama teacher and retail sales assistant. In 1999 she played the lead role in the independent hit feature film Occasional Coarse Language and has appeared in numerous theatrical productions on many of Sydney s favourite stages including the Studio at the Opera House and the Darlinghurst Theatre. In 2008 Sara wrote, produced and performed in a musical comedy featuring an original live score. She has written two award winning short plays, one of which was published by Currency Press in 2006 and has since been produced by a UK theatre company. She has toured both Australia and overseas with theatre in education companies, regularly performs in original folk/pop trio the Ladycakes and has recorded numerous vocal sessions for film scores and band albums. Future plans include writing and starring in a Broadway hit, living in Venice, selling a few hit singles and paying the rent on time.
Gary Smith Gary sings tenor in The Fifth House. He is a NSW Conservatorium of Music graduate, studying piano with Richard Gill and Isador Goodman. He is a music teacher and currently the choral director of two Sydney community choirs. Gary has a background as a rock and jazz pianist having studyied with Roger Frampton and Bob Bertles, and is a composer and arranger. Gary has performed in various of operas and operettas including, Carmen, Stravinsky's Oedipus and Donizetti's Don Pasquale, as well as taking leading roles in several Gilbert & Sullivan productions. His choral work took him to Europe with the choir of St Mary's Cathedral and worked for 6 years performing with The Conservatorium Singers and 2 years with The Singers of St Laurence. He was a founding member and musical director of the vocal quintet "Ninety Nine and a Half' which undertook several international tours taking in South East Asia and The Edinburgh Jazz and Fringe Festivals. Gary started The Fifth House in 2002 and most recently took the role of artistic director for The Sydney A Cappella Festival in 2008. Linda Knight
Since deciding at the age of 6 that entertaining was her passion, Linda Knight has been driven by her life-long love affair with music and established herself as a versatile and creative singer. Linda has worked continuously since joining her first band 'Crossroad' a Gospel/Funk band in 1979. Throughout the 80's, she performed as a solo Cabaret artist around Sydney and on International Cruises, steadily working in Corporate and Private functions. She made guest appearances on television including local telethons, daytime and evening variety shows such as the "Don Lane Show". Concentrating on live performance, Linda continues to play at venues around Australia and also supports Local and International acts on tour. She has also recorded her first Jazz c.d. 'And So It Goes' given air-time on Jazz radio programmes around the country. Linda also enjoys a successful career teaching music and runs her own Singing and Stagecraft studio in Sydney. ^ top
